Health and safety is everyone’s responsibility. Keeping it top of mind takes committed leadership, personal engagement and strict adherence to safety routines.
The lost-time accident rate (LTAR) reduced from 4.3 in 2018 to 3.7 in 2019, while employee lost time accidents (LTAs) reduced from 169 in 2018 to 146 in 2019. We are making good progress, but there is no room for complacency.
Our commitment to reach ZERO lost-time accidents contributes to SDG 8, Decent work and economic growth. In particular, we focus on target 8.8 – promoting safe and secure working environments for all workers.
In equipping our people with world-class safety practices, training is key to preventing the most severe accidents. We partner with international safety experts such as 3M to develop tailored training programmes for specific situations to keep our people safe around the world.
